KPL takes midweek recess, resumes weekend

06 May 2014, 11:10

Nairobi - The Kenya Premier League (KPL) has not lined-up matches for midweek to ensure the campaign is not compromised as all clubs will be in action this weekend.

The pick of the crop will see defending champions and log leaders Gor Mahia host fourth positioned Sofapaka in a match that promises fireworks.

Gor are bubbling in confidence following their 1-0 win over Sony Sugar at the weekend while Sofapaka on the other hand were forced into a 3 - 3 draw by Western Stima.

The clash on Saturday will present both teams the opportunity to enhance their standing on the premiership.

In other matches for Saturday, Western Stima will host Chemelil Sugar in an encounter likely to go either way.

Bandari Football Club will be entertaining Sony Sugar after weekend's goalless draw with Muhoroni Youth.

Elsewhere on Sunday, rejuvenated KCB will host Muhoroni Youth while Tusker take on Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)in matches with potentials of a thriller.

Top Fry Nakuru will host Ulinzi Stars while Mathare United play City Stars in another anticipated action packed match. Thika United will host struggling AFC Leopards on Sunday.
