KPL shoot down move to expand league to 18 teams
25 November 2014, 14:54
Nairobi - The Kenyan Premier League will not accept an 18 team league, it has said.
The KPL said in a statement Tuesday that it was not open to an 18 team league, as has been forwarded by the Football Kenya Federation due to a number of reasons, including lack of funding and stretched resources.
The FKF had said that it was pushing for an 18 team league to stretch the benefits of the improved KPL to more teams.
The KPL had however said it was not open to the move until it considered input from its governing council and league sponsors Supersport and Tusker.
