KCB to release six players

18 November 2014, 15:58

Nairobi - KCB are set to offload no fewer than six first-team players as they look to rebuild their squad after only narrowly avoiding relegation last season.

The Bankers finished the recently concluded Kenyan Premier League campaign in 14th, just five points clear of the bottom-two after managing only seven wins from their 30 league outings.

KCB coach Rishadi Shedu has now confirmed their plans for the new term, saying: "We have really struggled this year, but the management has been very supportive in our plans to revamp the squad ahead of next season, so I am planning to bring in experienced players from the KPL and also from Uganda to ensure that we never have to fight relegation that closely again."

The KPL outfit will now hold two separate trials, beginning on November 24, where they will look to source previously unknown talents in a bid to raise their profile, and league standing, in the Kenyan top flight.
