Justin Rose wins US Open

Cape Town - South African-born Englishman Justin Rose has won his maiden
Major at the 113th US Open at Merion Golf Club on Sunday.
tearful Rose, 32, playing in his eighth US Open, pointed to the sky in
memory of his father on Father's Day after holing out on the 72nd hole,
finished on a score of 1-over par 281 to become to the first English
winner of a Major since Nick Faldo at the 1996 Masters.
Phil Mickelson finished in a tie for second with Australia's Jason Day,
two strokes adrift, to extend his 'record' of runner-up finishes at the
US Open to six.
Ernie Els was the leading South African-finisher on 5-over, in a tie for fourth.
