Imbalambala slams defence

29 September 2014, 17:07

Nairobi - Martin Imbalambala has criticised Leopards' "casual defending" as they needed to come from behind to beat Tusker FC on Sunday.

The defending champions found themselves 2-0 down after Jesse Were bagged a brace for the Brewers, but Austine Ikenna halved the deficit from the penalty spot before a Llyod Wahome own-goal and Humprey Mieno's stunner completed the turn around.

Imbalambala, though, was still left less than impressed with some of his side's defensive lapses, but refused to single out any one player.

"We gave our best. Definitely we conceded easy goals that would have been handled better on both cases. We are a team and mistakes that we have in the match cannot be singled out to just one player," the skipper said.

"We were casual in defence in the beginning fifteen minutes and this is a concern to all of us. In three matches, we have conceded in the first fifteen minutes and that is unacceptable as it makes the match harder in such cases.

"We are working on concentration as a team and in coming matches I believe we will be better."
