Harambee Stars go down fighting in Lesotho

20 July 2014, 18:52

Nairobi - National team Harambee Stars lost 1-0 to Lesotho in their second round, first leg 2015 AFCON qualifying clash, Sunday in Maseru.

The clash was played at the Stesoto Stadium and saw the Stars dominate proceedings for most of the afternoon.

They were however punished for poor defending which saw Tsebo Moletsane score the only goal of the game just after the hour mark.

And despite some late valiant efforts, the home side hang on for the win.

The defeat means that the Stars will have to win the return leg by two clear goals to proceed, as a draw will see Lesotho through to the final round of qualification.

The return leg will be played Sunday August 3, 2014 at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.

The winner of the two legged clash will join Burkina Faso, Guinea and Angola in the final group stage for a place in Morocco 2015.
