Harambee Stars beat Comoros to progress in AFCON qualifying

Nairobi - Harambee Stars drew 1-1 with the Comoros in Moroni, a result good enough to see them progress to the second round of AFCON 2015 qualifying Friday.
The Stars knew before-hand that a draw would favour them in Moroni after they beat the Comoros 1-0 in Nairobi a fortnight earlier.
And they did just that, Ayub Timbe scored the opening goal in the second half to silence the partisan crowd at the Mitsamiouli International Stadium with Ben El Fardou equalizing for the home side.
Stars head coach Adel Amrouche was sent off for the Stars late in the game for insistent complaining.
The Stars thus picked up a 2-1 aggregate win and will now face either Liberia or Lesotho in the second round of qualification for Morocco.
