Harambee Stars FIFA rise vindicates Amrouche appointment

Nairobi - It is very rare that the Harambee Stars get a coaching appointment right but it seems that they might have done so with Adel Amrouche.
The Belgian Moroccan coach has delivered a first title for the national team in the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in over a decade and now the national team has risen rapidly in the FIFA rankings.
Now 109 in the world from as low as 136 in recent months, it seems the coach has a magic formula for the national team.
Former national team head coach Jacob Ghost Mulee feels there is something good going on with the national team.
" There is a good vibe with the national team. The players look happy and the coach is on a good run. I am happy for the set-up.
" Right now we are climbing in the rankings and have just won a major trophy so we hope it continues that way.
" There is a good vibe and we hope that the Federation can maintain the head coach, he added.
And Harambee Stars assistant coach James Nandwa feels the same about the current situation.
" The draw versus Nigeria in Calabar lifted the national team very highly and that was a huge factor in the performance to date.
" A national team is about the head coach and his vision for the side and as long as the players trust the head coach, then there are bound to be good results.
" It is safe to say that the coach has won the trust of the players and the Federation which is nice to see.
" Expect to see the country rise even further in the coming months, he said.
Football Kenya Federation and Amrouche have recently said that they are working hard on ensuring they keep their working relationship intact.
