Gor/Leopards derby set for Sunday

Nairobi - Football Kenya Federation has confirmed that the FKF /GOTV Shield final between Gor Mahia F.C and AFC Leopards S.C will be played at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday 17th Kick off 3.00pm.
FKF President, Sam Nyamweya, disclosed this after holding a joint meeting with the two clubs representatives today at the FKF Secretariat.
Plans are already underway for the derby with the emphasis of both clubs working towards stamping out hooliganism.
We want the game played in a spirit of brotherhood and we want to assure all fans that we are working very closely with our security organs to ensure that no ugly incidents are witnessed, he added.
On Wednesday the club officials will have lunch together at a city hotel ,and later hold a press conference to preach peace, and also the idea of holding a ‘Mashemegi nite’ was mooted.
There will be entertainment throughout the day and a curtain raiser between AFC /GOR legends kicking off at 1.00PM .
Ticket costs have been pegged at Ksh 1,000 for the VIP and Ksh 500 for the terraces.
The winner of this year’s edition will walk home with the biggest prize money awarded in this tournament of Ksh 2 million and the new glittering GOTV SHIELD while the runners takes home Ksh 700,000/ -.
Fans have been urged to turn out in large numbers for the match to cheer their favorite team.
