Nairobi - Gor Mahia have denied that they had made contact with former Kenya boss
Henri Michel about the vacant head coach job at the KPL champions.
K'Ogalo are currently under the guidance of team manager Frank Ouna,
who was installed as caretaker coach following the departure of Scot
Gor secretary general Chris Omondi and
organising secretary David Kiilo both refuted the reports that Michel
was in line to take over the reins at the club.
"We released an
official statement after Tuesday's EC (executive committee) meeting,
declaring the coaching post vacant and we need to have a new coach by
the time we play Ulinzi Stars," the officials said in a joint press
"We've not held any talks with Michel, but if he's
interested he's free to apply. We started receiving the applications
even before Bobby left for (Harambee) Stars.
"Right now, more than 40 foreigners have expressed interest for the job. Frank (Ouna) is just a care taker coach," they added.
