Gor Premiership woes continue

Nairobi - Defending champions, Gor Mahia’s indifferent start to the season continued as they drew 1-1 with nine-man Tusker Football Club in a thrilling Kenya Premier League (KPL) encounter contested at Nyayo National Stadium on Wednesday.
The match which started at a fast pace saw Gor Mahia score first in the 41st minute through Haron Shakava's penalty spot-kick, but a formidable Tusker FC hit back in the 53rd minute to silence the hosts’ fans.
Tusker found their equaliser through Ismail Dunga to force a well deserved draw despite playing with two men short following the expulsion of Martin Kiiza and Lloyd Wahome for committing different match offences.
The draw assured Tusker, who are the current Premiership log leaders to walk away with a crucial point.
Although Gor dominated the better part of the first half, their strikers and midfielders, particularly Dan Sserunkuma and Kevin Omondi could not utilise most the scoring opportunities which came their way.
On the other hand, Tusker were at fault as well as they also failed to convert some easy scoring chances in the second half.
In one such flop, Jesse Were missed when he shot wide under immense pressure from a Gor Mahia defender.
