Gor Mahia will not pay for Machakos damage

30 October 2014, 09:30

Nairobi - Gor Mahia have vowed not to pay the KES 10 million fine imposed on them by Machakos County Governor Dr Alfred Mutua.

According to Secretary General Chris Omondi, Gor are not in any contractual deal with the county and insists it is Sofapaka who should be held responsible.

" We are not paying any cent to Mutua, who is he to impose the ban on Gor Mahia, " shouted Omondi.

" We have no contract with the county as it is Sofapaka who have a deal with them, hence he has no authority to even ban the club from playing at the venue," he added.

Mutua has said Gor will not be allowed to play at the Machakos Stadium after their fans destroyed property worth millions of shillings in the loss to Sofapaka Sunday.

Omondi also challenged the County to use their CCTV technology to track individuals believed to have caused the chaos.
