Gor Mahia will play their next three home matches in an empty Stadium. This is according to the ruling made by the IDCC on Thursday afternoon.
Gor Mahia fans disrupted their match against AFC Leopards on March 18th, disputing a red card showed to Ali Abondo after a dangerous tackle on Amon Muchiri.
Gor Mahia were charged with failing to control its supporters thereby causing stoppage of the match, damage to property belonging to the SuperSport and Sports Stadia Management Board and injury to fans of AFC Leopards, contrary to Rules 3.4 (a) and 7.8 of the Rules of Kenyan Football.
Gor have also been ordered to within fifteen days from the date of this decision to present a strategic plan on how they will implement future security arrangements in respect of matches in which it is the home club, failure to which it shall play its next two home matches to in empty stadia.
This might nbring their total matches to be played without fans to five. Gor will play without their 12th man in matches against City Stars (28th April), Chemelil (6th May) and Western Stima (19th May).
AFC Leopards who had argued that they should have been awarded with maximum points ater the match were however not listened to as the IDCC ruled that the referee’s decision to go on with the match was final.
