Gor Mahia to hold crisis meeting

01 April 2015, 15:14

Nairobi - Gor Mahia will reportedly hold an emergency meeting with the club's players on Wednesday to plead for more time to sort out their current financial constraints.

The K'Ogalo squad had boycotted training on Tuesday due to unpaid salaries and allowances amounting to a reported KES 5.5 million, while some of the club's new signings are also believed to still be owed their joining fees.

The Nairobi giants held a fund-raising event on Tuesday but only managed to secure around 10 percent of the total amount, and will now need to consider alternate options as they look to prevent a collapse of the club.

Gor's technical team will now be hoping to convince the players to resume training, with the club in CAF Champions League action against AC Leopards in Brazzaville on Saturday.
