Gor Mahia to face their juniors

09 October 2014, 19:06

Nairobi - Reigning league champions Gor Mahia will use the FIFA break to play against their under-19s in a friendly at the Nairobi City Stadium on Saturday.

The match has been organised to raise funds for the U19 side, to help them prepare for Provincial League promotion play-offs after they finished top of the Nairobi County League.

Club secretary general Chris Omondi made a rallying call to the Gor faithful to come out and support the initiative in aid of the youth side.

"We call upon loyal fans of the club to turn up in large numbers and witness what the club is up to in terms of identifying and nurturing young talent...and to assist the juniors meet some of their financial obligations," Omondi said in a statement on the club's website.

The Gor youth side will face teams from three other zones for the overall County League championship title.
