Gor Mahia the big winners in KPL weekend action

Nairobi - Gor Mahia were the big winners in the Kenyan Premier League, with the fight for relegation also hotting up after the bottom three sides won.

Gor beat Western Stima 2-0 Saturday to open up a three point lead after Tusker FC who went into the weekend as leaders lost 1-0 to SoNy Sugar.

Chemelil Sugar also lost 1-0 at home to relegation threatened Nairobi City Stars, while Sofapaka could only draw 1-1 with Ulinzi Stars.

At the bottom, the City Stars' win was followed by wins for both Top Fry AllStars who saw off KRA 1-0 and KCB who beat Thika United 3-1.

AFC Leopards are now closer to the relegation places after they lost to Mathare United.

Gor Mahia have 34 points, with Tusker on 31, Sofapaka on 29 and Chemelil on 28 points to complete the top four.

At the bottom, KCB have 9 points, with Top Fry on 12, City Stars on 17 and Leopards on 19 points to complete the bottom four sides in the division.
