Gor Mahia face financial battle

Nairobi - Gor Mahia have confirmed there might be financial complications as the
team prepare for the CAF Champions League fixture against AC Leopards.
K'Ogalo had already experienced severe financial constraints last
year but somehow managed to emerge virtually unscathed before lifting
the Kenyan Premier League title.
However, competing in continental competition is an extraordinary expense and Gor Mahia are not sure they can handle it.
It has been reported the KPL champions would require more than KES 5
million just honour their fixtures - the majority of that expense being
on accommodation and air travel.
"It is a very expensive venture," a source close to the club told Goal.
"The air tickets alone will cost us KES 2.6 million. We have been given a
bill of KES 18, 000 per night each for accommodation. We are working hard
to ensure the team travels and performs well."
Gor Mahia head into to the second leg against Leopards needing to
overturn a one-goal deficit, which is never a simple undertaking when
competing against Congolese opposition in front of hostile crowds.
