Gor, Leopards tie highlights KPL resumption

Nairobi - The Kenya Premier League (KPL) resumes on Friday following a congested week fluctuated with international and domestic cup games.
The local premiership springs back to life following a week's absence due to the Harambee Stars' participation in the 2015 AFCON tie against Comoros while top flight clubs were battling out in the GOtv shield.
To start rolling the ball on Friday, Western Stima, who suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Tusker in the GOtv Shield competition, will host Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) in an encounter likely to produce fireworks.
KRA are placed third on the premiership league log standing while their rivals Western Stima are a distant 10th position.
After Friday premiership matches, Thika United will entertain City Stars in another crucial league tie on Saturday while Ulinzi Stars host unpredictable Sony Sugar.
The week's biggest match will feature defending champions, Gor Mahia, against old rival, AFC Leopards, in a match likely to go either way.
Gor Mahia, who lead the 16-team league log with 29 points from 13 games will meet 11th positioned AFC Leopards with 14 points from 12 matches to date in the do-or-die encounter.
When these two teams meet, the issue of log standing position usually does not count due to the nature of the old rivalry between the two.
AFC Leopards have improved since hiring Dutch mentor Henrick Pieters de Jong two weeks ago.
Elsewhere on Saturday, second-placed Tusker will host Mathare United in another promising encounter while Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) entertain Sofapaka before the Premiership games resume Sunday.
