Giants in action as USL resumes

24 October 2011, 17:22

Nairobi - Giants KCC, SC Villa and Bunnamwaya will all be in action when the Bell Super League resumes on Tuesday with all sides looking to put right their rather unpromising starts to the season.

Matia Lule’s KCC, ninth with a meagre five points after five games, will be seeking their first win since their 4-1 opening day victory over bottom side Utoda when they take on Edward Golola’s Bunnamwaya, who are just a place below but on the same points, at Nakivubo.

Both could move up to sixth and fifth respectively if Fire Masters (seven points) and Water (six points), who face off at Kavumba ground in Wakiso District, fail to win.

In SuperSport’s live game at Wankulukuku, Srdjan Zivojnov’s SC Villa will be looking to build on their 1-0 victory over Simba last Friday when they face a side that have lost four of their six matches, Utoda.

The 16-time league champions, eighth on six points, could move to third with victory if results of Fire Masters and Police, who visit Victors in Jinja, go their way.

Angelo Lonyesi’s Police could themselves end the day in second and within two points of leaders URA, who are on 13, if they subject struggling Victors to their second consecutive defeat.

It’s the six-pointer bout at Luzira when hosts Maroons and Bidco, both on five points and in 12th and 11th respectively in the 15-team league, face off.
