Nairobi - Former Kenya Premier League (KPL) side Compel Fc formely known as Panpaper FC is among four clubs that have been kicked out of the Nationwide division two league by Football Kenya Limited (FKL) for failing to honour their matches.
Other casualties include Bungoma Revival Superstars; Kericho based Kitwek FC, and Silbwet FC from Bungoma.
According to FKL’s League & Competitions manager Bernard Shitiabayi, the teams withdrew from the league in the second leg, contrary to FKL rules.
Shitiabayi told SuperSport.com that a team can only pull out in the first leg or within seven days after the start of the League.
The latest action comes barely a month after FKL also kicked out two other clubs for similar reasons. They include Eldoret Umeme and Oyugi’s United. The six teams are also required to pay a fine of Shs.100,000 each, failure to which they will face a two year ban from FKL activities.
“It is official that the four teams have been kicked out. They have continually inconvenienced us by forcing the secretariat to keep changing the fixtures which they have not honoured. They have also breached the agreement they signed before taking part in the league.”
