Nairobi - Kenyan Premier League side Western Stima is in mourning following the news that Team Manager Paul Ochieng has passed on.
Ochieng has been suffering from Cancer since 2008 after picking up gout disease after an injury to his ear while playing for Stima.
He has been in and out of hospital but finally succumbed Friday afternoon at the Moi Teaching and referral hospital.
Stima chair Laban Jobita felt aggrieved, saying that the club had lost a truly magnificent human being.
" We have lost a man who will be hard to replace. He gave a lot to the game and even when he was not feeling well, he would try his best to just be there.
" He suffered as a result of football but still gave the game his best shot and it was just time for him to go rest after such a long and painful battle, he said.
Ochieng was an elegant defender in his days, featuring for the national team Harambee Stars as well as Premier League sides Nzoia and Mumias Sugar before finishing his career at Stima.
