Fifa lifts Kasarani/Nyayo stadium bans

13 October 2011, 10:56

Nairobi - The world soccer governing body Fifa has lifted the ban on Moi International Sports Centre (MISC) Kasarani and Nyayo National Stadium.

The new developments mean that Kenya will be able to host the second leg of their 2014 World Cup pre qualifier against Seychelles.

“I can now confirm that Football Kenya is entitled to organising again its matches in Nairobi, including the attendance of spectators. You will receive the enclosed decision by DHL from our colleagues in the Disciplinary Department,” read a communication from the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Head of FIFA World Cup and Olympic Qualifiers Competitions, Gordon Savic.

Savic said FKL would thus no longer need to find an alternative venue, as they would be re-allowed to play in Nairobi.
