Nairobi - The Football Kenya Federation has come to an agreement with Mombasa County government over the hosting of CECAFA matches in the Coastal City.

There had been a cionflict between the two bodies over what amount of money would be required to allow the games be played in Mombasa with FKF demanding KES 10 million and the County government saying it could not afford to do so.

And with the quarters set to kick off over the weekend there were doubts the matches would be played but FKF president Sam Nyamweya now says they have agreed to have the matches in Mombasa.

"We confirm that after lengthy discussions with Mombasa County, we have agreed that it is now possible to host the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in Mombasa on Saturday 7th December 2013 and Sunday 8th December 2013.

" The County has agreed to meet all the expenses including Air Tickets, Accommodation, Security and give KES 3 Million to the Local Organizing Committee to offset some of the bills incurred, a statement from Nyamweya read.

" We wish to thank the Governor of Mombasa County for supporting the Federation on this very important tournament. The teams and officials will start arriving in Mombasa from December 6, 2013.
