FKF apologize over Inter tour cancellation

23 May 2014, 15:00

Nairobi - The Football Kenya Federation has apologized over the cancellation of the supposed tour to Kenya of Italian giants Inter Milan.

The Italians were to be in the country this weekend to take on national team Harambee Stars in a friendly match but have cancelled at the last minute.

" We are sorry that it has happened the way it has but we had no choice after they requested cancellation, FKF CEO Michel Esakwa said.

" The truth is that we were prepared and they cancelled so the hope is that they will come back soon.

" We have discussed it and they are willing to come back but at a later time. We hope it goes that way, he added.

The current security situation in the country is said to have been the reason behind the cancellation.
