Nairobi - AFC Leopards' Dutch coach, Pieter Hendrik De Jong, is proving an astute signing.
The Dutch tactician took over a side that was struggling with competition in the Kenya Premier League (KPL) without any hope of winning honours during the ongoing campaign.
Thanks to the astute mentor, the side is back in the reckoning for league honours and is on the verge of claiming the regional Council for East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) Nile Basin Cup.
De Jong's flawless and attacking brand football is slowly winning secret admirers across Kenya and the entire East African region.
Meanwhile, Leopards have made history by booking a berth in the final without losing a single match in the tournament.
The side cruised to a 2-0 victory against Academie Tchite of Burundi in the Council for East and Central Africa Football Association Nile Basin Cup semi-final played in Khartoum, Sudan on Monday.
The win saw Leopards progress into the final despite playing with two men down.
Goals from Mudde Musa and Michael Khamati were enough to propel AFC Leopards into the final.
