Berlin - Borussia Dortmund keeper Roman Weidenfeller was Friday named in Germany's squad for friendly internationals against Italy and England.
It is the first time the 33-year-old keeper has been called up.
Germany are playing Italy next Friday in Milan and England four days later at Wembley.
Weidenfeller is the only uncapped player in coach Joachim Loew's 24-man party for the two matches.
Loew is without Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, who has to undergo surgery again on his right ankle.
Also out injured are Mario Gomez, Lukas Podolski and Ilkay Guendogan. Lazio striker Miroslav Klose is back following injury.
