De Jongh impressed with Leopards

06 June 2014, 12:32

Nairobi - AFC Leopards head coach Pieter De Jongh has hailed his boys performance in the Nile Basin Cup tournament despite losing 2-1 to SC Victoria University in the final on Wednesday in Khartoum.

The scholars took the lead on the half hour mark through Mathew Odongo, but their celebrations were cut-short with Austine Ikenna’s just before the break.

But with less than a minute to stoppage time, concentration lapse cost the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) giants the game as Mutyaba Muzamir unleashed a perfect free kick at the edge of the box to end Ingwe’s five game unbeaten run in the tournament.
