De Jongh: We're better now

13 August 2014, 17:04

Nairobi - AFC Leopards head coach Hendrik Pieter de Jongh has issued a warning to his side's rivals following an encouraging run of results.

Ingwe had a disappointing first round of the new campaign under their previous coach James Nandwa, but have improved under De Jongh since play resumed after the mid-season break.

The reigning Shield Cup champions have steadily made their way up the Kenyan Premier League rankings, following a string of positive results much to their mentor's delight.

"As you can see the team is fast picking up," De Jongh told the official KPL website.

"We have had a better run since the beginning of the second leg and our remaining opponents should expect a different AFC Leopards.

"Confidence levels in the team are where they should be as at now, and the fighting spirit among the players is very encouraging.

"We have set very high targets in our campaign, and that is what I want to concentrate on," he added.

Leopards are set to face current league leaders Tusker FC at the Moi International Sports Centre on Sunday.
