De Jong: Leopards work in progress

27 May 2014, 14:32

Nairobi - AFC Leopards head coach Henrick Pieters de Jong says the club is still a work in progress despite winning two straight games in the ongoing CECAFA Nile Basin tourney in Sudan.

Leopards have won both their matches at the tournament so far by two goal scorelines, over Rwanda's Enticelles and Tanzania's Mbeya.

They will face Burundi's Academie Tchite in their final group match and even though they look good thus far in his two matches in-charge, de Jong is still cautious about progress made.

" It is still early days but I am happy with where we are as we speak, he said.

" We need to continue to work and improve the side and the way we play. It is important that we are able to continue winning games and doing the basics right.

" I am happy with that but there is still a lot of work to be done, he added.

Leopards face the Burundians Thursday in their final group match.
