De Jong Leopards stint off to a flyer

Nairobi - The newly-appointed AFC Leopards' Dutch coach seems to have settled in well in his post.
The side's impressive showing at the ongoing Council for East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa) Nile Basin tournament in Sudan testifies this.
Hendrik Pieter De Jong took over the reins from James Nandwa, who was fired two weeks ago.
De Jong's men on Sunday humbled Rwanda’s Etincelles 2-0 in a strongly-contested match at Khartoum Stadium in Sudan, a development which is instilling much confidence to Leopards ahead of the resumption of the Kenya Premier League (KPL).
Though the competition appears tough due to the presence of Sudan's tough clubs boasting CAF Club Championships experience, Leopards have started on a high note and hot favourites to finish among the top four teams in the tournament.
Leopards currently lead its group with three points from the initial match with two games to wrap the group stage.
Other regional clubs in the same Group are Tanzania's Mbeya City, Burundi’s Academie Tchite and Rwanda’s Etincelles respectively.
Leopards was set to clash horns with Mbeya City by the time of going to press.
