Date set for re-run of Gor Mahia elections

10 January 2014, 12:24

Nairobi - Gor Mahia have set Sunday January 19, 2013 as the date for the re-run of their elections.

The earlier club elections which were set for December were disrupted and then cancelled after hooligans destroyed voting material.

The Football Kenya Federation thus gave the club a period of four weeks to ensure the elections were held and they have now come up with a provisional date.

" The elections will be held on Sunday 19 January, subject to confirmation, Secretary General George Bwana said.

" It is a provisional date and we hope that it will be agreed on by stakeholders so we can have the club move on to other things, he said.

According to Bwana, the swearing in of new officials will be done a week after the elections.
