Nairobi - Gor Mahia midfielder Collins Okoth is confident they can still progress
past the group stages, despite their losing start at the Kagame Cup.
The Kenyan Premier League champions lost their tournament opener 2-1
against Uganda's KCCA, who completed a second half comeback to overturn
K'ogalo's early lead.
Okoth is nevertheless convinced they can
get their campaign back on track in their next two matches against
Burundi's Atletico and APR of Rwanda next week.
"We lost our
first match but that wasn't end of the journey," Okoth told the club's
official website. "Our hopes are alive and we have equal chances of
making it to the next stage.
"I believe we can get good results in our remaining matches to give us a ticket to quarter finals of the tournament.
had a good game in the first half against KCCA, but lost concentration
towards the end thus allowing them to come back in the game.
have to move on quickly and focus on the next match. We are ready and
looking forward to achieve the best on Monday, he added.
K'Ogalo will lock horns with Atletico on Monday, before taking on hosts APR on Friday.
