Nairobi - Ulinzi Stars have hailed the appointment of Robert Matano as head coach saying this would remedy the side's precarious situation.
Matano has taken over the reins at the struggling Premiership side ahead of the match against on-song Thika United on Sunday.
He was appointed alongside Benjamin Nyangweso, who will be his assistant. This follows the resignation of Salim Alimu following a string of poor results.
Ulinzi Stars Chief Executive Officer, Joe Birgen described the appointment as positive for the club.
He was hopeful the decision would bring desired results and move the club up the standings. He is upbeat Matano and Nyangweso would form a "deadly combination."
Birgen said the appointment of the duo was "visionary" and looked forward to the coaches hitting the ground running against Thika.
Stars have started the ongoing campaign badly.Six games into the league, they are perched 12th on the 16 team log with
no victory. They have lost one encounter and drawn five others.
