Chievo part company with coach Sannino

12 November 2013, 18:36

Rome - Serie A's bottom club Chievo Verona announced on Tuesday that they have parted company with coach Giuseppe Sannino.

The 56-year-old Sannino only arrived at Chievo in the summer but was relieved of his duties after a run of six defeats and two draws in their last eight outings which left them three points adrift of Catania at the foot of the table.

Before joining Chievo, Sannino was in charge of Palermo, overseeing their relegation from Serie A at the end of last season.

According to Italian press reports, Eugenio Corini, the 43-year-old who had a spell as coach of Chievo last season, should return to the helm.

Chievo face local rivals Hellas Verona in their next fixture on November 23.
