Nairobi - CECAFA will honour Nelson Mandela with a minute of silence before the quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup this weekend.
Mandela passed on Thursday after a long illness.
Tanzania has already declared a three day period of mourning while football's governing body FIFA has said it will observe minutes of silence before the next round of international matches.
CECAFA too have chipped in and will offer their respects to the departed icon.
" We have lost a great man and will commemorate his passing with a minute of silence before each of the quarter-final games, CECAFA president Leodegar Tenga said.
Saturday will see Uganda take on Tanzania with Kenya taking on Rwanda in the second semi in Mombasa City.
