CAS rules in favour of Burkina Faso
10 January 2012, 18:17
Burkina Faso - The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has upheld the Confederation of African Football (CAF) appeal board decision against Namibia FA, clearing Burkina Faso to participate in the 2012 African Cup of Nations set to kickoff next weekend in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
The information was given by Caf at its headquarters in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday, but Namibia officials say they are yet to be notified by the sport's ultimate tribunal.
The Namibia Football Association was challenging the eligibility of Cameroonian-born Herve Zengue to play for the Stallions, but their case was turned down twice by Caf, leading them to solicit CAS for a final arbitration.
