CAF confirm AFCON 2017 bids

Nairobi - The Confederation of African Football have announced that seven bids have
been received for the hosting rights of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

canvassed for co-bidding, but only Algeria, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya,
Sudan and Zimbabwe submitted their applications by the deadline of
Tuesday, September 30.

According to a statement from CAF, the
host nation will be decided by the CAF executive committee during one of
its sessions in 2015.
CAF emphasized that due to the limited
time frame for the organization of AFCON 2017, the committee will focus
on the host with acceptable infrastructure and facilities required in
making a decision.
