Bryett fumes at postponement

15 July 2014, 18:31

Nairobi - Nairobi City Stars head coach Tim Bryett has expressed dismay with the postponement of his side's fixture against struggling AFC Leopards.

Ingwe have requested for the match to be rescheduled because they have three players in the current Kenya national squad which is preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

There are currently only two points separating 14th-placed City Stars and Leopards, who are sitting in 13th position in the Kenya Premier League standings.

The disgruntled Bryett had targeted the match to build on Friday's 1-0 triumph over Chemelil Sugar and ease his side's relegation worries.

"I am disappointed because we were ready for it," the Briton told Futaa. "Especially after finding our footing in the game against Chemelil Sugar.

"However, I understand their situation perfectly; they have three players in the national team and are well within the law to ask for a postponement.

"We will now concentrate on preparing for the Shield game on Saturday," he added.

City Stars are set to lock horns with Wazito in the round of 32 of the 2014 Shield Cup on Saturday.
