Bobby: Ethiopia a closed book

19 June 2015, 18:09

Nairobi - Kenya coach Bobby Williamson admits Ethiopia are a closed book, but remains confident of his side's chances in this weekend's African Nations Championship clash.

The two nations will square off in the preliminary round on Sunday, with the Harambee Stars traveling to their East African neighbours with not much insight into the Walia Ibexes' squad or tactics.

Despite the blind spot, former Gor Mahia coach Williamson does not see his side suffering any potential hiccups, saying: "I don't know much about Ethiopia but I know they don't know much about us either.

"I don't think they have many players who play abroad so they will probably have a full squad but I believe in the boys because they are very talented.

"It's a big test because it will tell how strong KPL is. Teams from North Africa spend a lot of money in football, we don't invest as much as they do and neither does Ethiopia.

"I'm looking forward to see if these guys are capable of stepping up."
