Bandari plan transfer raid

11 June 2015, 13:50

Nairobi - Bandari will look to spend big in the transfer period, according to the Kenyan Premier League club's technical director, Edward Odour.

The Mombasa-based side find themselves mid-table at the half-way stage of the campaign with 20 points from 15 games, leaving them just seven points adrift of second, but only eight clear of the relegation zone.

And, with the club preferring to look up the standings, a busy transfer window is expected, especially considering the current injury absences, which include Abbas Muhiddin, Masoud Juma and Victor Ndinya.

"With such long term injuries, we shall bring in fresh legs. We are waiting for the technical report from our coach that will guide us ahead of the second leg [of the season]," said Odour during the draw for the first round of the GoTV Shield, where Bandari were paired against Savannah FC.

Odour also spoke of his delight at the KPL's new rules regarding international commitments, with clubs only required to release their players for official FIFA matches.

"It's ridiculous for players to stay in the National team training camp for one month only to come limping with injuries. In our case, we had Ndinya, David Kingatua, David Gateri and John Ndirangu in the under 23 squad and their absence affected us," he added.
