Anguyo: Leopards can compete

02 July 2015, 18:34

Nairobi - Versatile defender Ivan Anguyo believes AFC Leopards could remain competitive despite the recent exit of 10 players.

Anguyo joined the side at the end of June, after a mass exodus hit the club when players left due to contract disputes.

Leopards are currently sixth on the Kenyan Premier League table with 25 points from seven matches.

The veteran told Supersport that Leopards have what it takes to challenge opponents in the league.

"I am happy to join a club as big as AFC Leopards. This is a proud moment for me," Anguyo said.

"When they called me to ask about my availability, I quickly agreed because this is a big club and they have a fantastic reputation.

"I hope to help the club get better performances and to be able to win games. Hopefully my experience will help.

"I also know the coach (Zdravko Logarusic) and he is a top coach so I am looking forward to being here and doing well."
