Amrouche calls on Harambee Stars support

30 July 2014, 12:59

Nairobi - Harambee Stars head coach Adel Amrouche is calling on fans to come out in support of the national team over the weekend.

The Stars take on their southern African counterparts Sunday at the Nyayo National Stadium knowing they need to overturn a 1-0 deficit to continue in their plight to make it to AFCON Morocco 2015.

Amrouche has been banned from attending the match but he has called on Kenyans to come out in large numbers to support the side.

" I urge Kenyans to support the team in this time of need. They need as much support as they can be afforded and I hope Kenyans will avail it, he said.

" We had a few important players missing from the side last time and that was felt really hard by the team. Hopefully, it will change when they are available this weekend, he added.

Amrouche has been banned by CAF for one year over a spitting incident but he did not choose to comment on the matter.

" The main business at the moment is on the Sunday match and then we will see from there what happens, he said.
