Cairo - Al Ahly saw off Orlando Pirates 2-0 at the Arab Contractors Stadium in the second leg of the CAF Champions League final to cement their place as the continent's marquee side.
The win, lifted the Cairo outfit to a record extending eighth crown on Sunday night, as their experience paid dividends against a spirited but unlucky Pirates side.
Mohammed Aboutrika scored the first of the night nine minutes into the second half with a smart finish from close range and they finished off the game through Ahmed Abdel-Zaher 11 minutes from time, turning home a low cross from the right to make it 2-0 and kill off the South Africans for a 3-1 aggregate win after the first leg had ended 1-1 in Johannesburg last weekend.
The Egyptians ended the game with 10 men after the late
dismissal of Sherif Abdel Fadil.
