Mombasa - First division side, Admiral FC, has succeeded where even the country's top football teams have failed-securing international opposition for a friendly match.
The team will this weekend be at the coastal town of Mombasa where it will host a Tanzanian Vodacom Premier League side Coastal Union FC.
The two teams will use the match to prepare for the upcoming football season in the two respective countries.
Admiral FC Head Coach, Swaleh Sunda, confirmed the practice match would be played at the Mombasa Municipal Stadium.
It comes days after the first division side was crowned the Kenya at 50 Cup champions as part of the country's celebrations of the independence milestone.
"We are looking forward to the friendly match considering we won the Jamhuri Cup. That match will be to expose our players who will want to prove themselves and hopefully catch eye of visiting scouts," said Swaleh.
The visiting team will have familiar faces in the form of locally-born stars, Chrispine Odula and Jerry Santos.
