London - Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas says striker Emmanuel Adebayor needs to keep working on his fitness to get a return to the first team.
The Togo captain got a boost when he was listed in their Europa League squad but is yet to make any appearance this season.
According to Villas-Boas Adebayor needs to keep working harder to get some time on the pitch. All he (Adebayor) needs is to keep working harder, Goal reports.
He also pointed to the eight goals scored by Defoe and the six by Soldado and said the level of competition in the squad means everyone "needs to break their way in the first line.”
Tottenham played a 0-0 draw away to Everton at the weekend leaving the club in fourth place but level on points with Chelsea and Liverpool who occupy second and third place.
