AFC/Gor Mahia clash moved

12 October 2011, 11:07

Nairobi - The eagerly awaited Football Kenya Limited (FKL) cup semifinal clash, pitting traditional rivals AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia against each other, has now been rescheduled from October 15 to 20th.

Consequently, the FKL Cup final that was earlier set for October 20 has now been rescheduled to October 26 at the Nyayo National Stadium from 6:30pm.

According to FKL leagues and competitions committee manager Bernard Shitiabayi, the highly billed clash shall be played at Nairobi City Stadium instead of Nyayo due to the Mashujaa Day celebrations at the latter stadium.

Shitiabayi said this after chairing a four-hour meeting that involved the five remaining clubs in the tournament. The meeting further resolved that Tuesday’s winner in the match between Sofapaka and KRA shall meet Thika United in the first semifinal, slated for October 19 at a venue to be announced.

The winner will represent the country in the CAF Africa Confederations Cup next year.
