AFC Leopards handed heavy sanctions for crowd trouble

Nairobi - AFC Leopards have been handed heavy sanctions for crowd trouble during the Shield Cup semi-finals clash versus Sofapaka.

Leopards fans caused mayhem after the 2-0 loss to Sofapaka at the City Stadium Monday and the Football Kenya Federation has said it will not condone such behaviour from fans in this day.

Below is the list of sanctions handed out to Leopards.

-AFC Leopards S.C. will play their remaining 2014 season matches in an empty stadium and compensate the Home team for loss of revenue in the event they are playing away.

-AFC Leopards S.C has hence been fined KES 500,000/-(five hundred thousand Shillings) payable within 7 days.

-AFC Leopards S.C. will pay for the medical expenses incurred by the  the injured Match Officials and fans.

-AFC Leopards S.C. must identify their scouts who were responsible for assaulting the match officials.

Arising from the abandonment the Match has been awarded to Sofapaka FC who will play Rangers F.C. in the finals of the Shield Match

-AFC Leopards forfeit the 3rd /4th play off spot of the Shield match and any other benefits thereof.
