AFC Leopards form reason for worry

10 July 2014, 12:35

Nairobi - AFC Leopards have just won once in nine games in the Kenyan Premier League, poor for a club of their status.

The 0-0 draw with Bandari Wednesday was the third straight match they have failed to win and apart from the 3-1 win over Gor Mahia three weeks ago, they have now only won once in nine games.

Understandably, the results have been met with anger from supporters and head coach Pieter de Jongh admits it is just nit good enough.

" It is not good enough. We have to play better. We have no choice.

" We have a good squad and top players. We are just missing a finishing touch and we are working on that. I am sorry for the fans, he said after the Bandari match Wednesday.

The reality is Leopards have 19 points, 11 behind leaders Tusker FC and only 10 ahead of Top Fry AllStars in the relegation places.

" We know the statistics. We are working to change them, the Dutch coach said in his parting shot.

Leopards fans will hope for changes soon.
