Rudisha: My body is back to its best
13 June 2016, 15:16
Nairobi - David Rudisha believes it is only a matter of time before he finds his best form in the 800m again.
The 27-year-old Olympic champion and world-record holder has struggled with injury and missed the bulk of the 2015 season.
However, he made his comeback over two laps in Melbourne in March and
also competed in the IAAF Diamond League event in Shanghai in May.
Next up for Rudisha is the Diamond League meeting in Stockholm on June 16 and he feels he is close to hitting top form.
"I believe my body is back to its best form and I can challenge for
medals. My training has been better and my body is coming back to its
best years," he told Xinhua.
The Kenyan was also in action in the recent Diamond League event in
Birmingham where he competed in the 600m and says his performance shows
he is on the right track ahead of the 2016 Olymics in Rio.
He added: "A New Diamond League record, world lead, and Africa record
over 600 metres time 1:13.10 seconds in Birmingham are the best show
for my road to Rio progression."
