Nigeria to host women's beach volleyball Olympic qualifiers

Lagos (Xinhua) -- At least six countries have arrived Nigeria for the final round for the Women' s Beach Volleyball qualifiers, a top official with the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVF) said Tuesday.
The final Beach Volleyball Olympics qualifiers will hold in Abuja from April 14 to April 17.
Tony Oghuma-Eghimai, Technical Director of the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAV), said the remaining countries were expected to arrive before the end of the day.
"Out of 12 countries, South Africa and Kenya have withdrawn from the competition; we are expecting nine counties now," he said.
Morocco, Gambia, Namibia, Egypt, Mauritius, Rwanda, Mozambique, Burkina-Faso, Sierra-Leone and Ghana are expected to compete in the tournament.
The winner will get an automatic berth of Olympics with the second and third qualifying for the World Cup and World Championship, respectively.
The 2016 Olympic Games is scheduled for August 5 to August 21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
